We’re on the Friday night dinner slot, right after the John Butler Trio closes out the main stage acts, and expect a great turnout of people that are there to enjoy music and hear fresh young voices…such as ourselves.

And we’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: we couldn’t have done it without you, Captain.

So what else is going on with HAH? Well we’ve got this little six song (okay, technically seven) EP coming out within the next week or two. That’s a big deal, too, in it’s own way. Recording/mixed/mastered at the awesome StudioWest, it is a great CD we’re all happy to be putting out.

And selling…at shows like our 12:00 spot at the San Diego IndieFest on Saturday March 27th!! Yeah, we’re really happy to be selected to play there this year!

‘Now, wait a minute,’ you might say, being the loyal and obsessive HAH fan who reads the blog and comes to all the live shows. Because you know that we’ve sworn up and down that we were already in the studio recording what was to be our breakthrough virgin CD/EP release.

Well, we lied.

Okay, okay, it wasn’t really a lie. Through the spring and early summer we were slowly recording in a studio—only the studio was a home studio and we weren’t quite getting the recordings we needed. That YOU need, our devoted and beloved fan.

So here we are, listening to tracks playing back through the speakers in the engineer’s booth at StudioWest, adding some guitar parts and getting ready for Jeremy and Tony to get some more vocal parts down on “Standing at the Edge”. We found out about this place through Astra Kelly, who has been a great resource and supporter for us since day one. Turns out that she’s also the studio manager here and knew enough of our music to hook us up with Caleb.

We came into the studio with the primary goal of getting incredible drum recordings, and hoping to get decent enough takes on everything else while we were at it. We had a list of seven songs ready to go, yet it was suggested that we not expect more than four songs worth of drums and bass tracks put down. We weren’t told that it couldn’t be done…but we were told it couldn’t be done, if you know what I mean.

At this point in time, we’ve got 95% of 7 songs worth of tracks layed out. And the raw, unmixed recordings already sound awesome! I could be wrong, and I might be going out on a long limb here, but I think we’re fucking rockstars.

We’ll post some pics from the studio soon, and will keep y’all updated on when the tracks are mixed, mastered and getting ready for release.

But that’s just the half of it. On Sunday the 21st we’re expected to roll into KUSI studios and rock out a couple songs for the morning show. We might have to swing by Jeremy’s house with an airhorn blaring to get us all there at the buttcrack of dawn, but we’re amped for the show, so to speak. Then, on Thursday the 25th, we’ve got another new experience to chalk down: HAH, along with Dusty’s other band (Sara Mesirow Band), will be opening for the popular cover band Cash’d Out at Winstons. Expect a huge crowd of their fans to show for this, so it’ll be great exposure for HAH.

All in all…it’s a pretty darn eventful June, with lots of firsts for the band!

So what’s on the horizon for us? Well, besides more upcoming gigs in July (4th and 15th, so far) we’re looking to keep working on the new album. The inside scoop on the band (for those of you that have read this far;)): we’ll probably be getting some good constructive feedback by viewing/listening to the video from Canes, and we’ll start incorporating some small tweaks here or there. Also, word on the street is that some new songs might roll out in the next month…you’ll just have to stay tuned! Until then…
