FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local San Diego Band HOLDING AIR HOSTAGE releases their first and CD now available on iTunes, LastFM, CDBaby, Amazon and is already receiving positive reviews

SAN DIEGO, CA, May 2010- With their first CD, Holding Air Hostage gives us six radio-friendly tracks with layered lyrics, intoxicating melodies ranging in tone from angst to relaxed and can be now be heard on Last.fm as well as found on iTunes, CDBaby and Amazon.

James Spring a producer for NPR states, “Holding Air Hostage, a band out of San Diego, delivers a compelling brand of rock that rides the range between Ben Harper and Muse. Their versatility feels boundless. The band’s first single, ‘Blackened Brew,’ offers a clever, breezy hook that will clearly appeal to the masses, but deeper cuts, like the song ‘I’m Over It,’ feel like a hurricane of angst and heartbreak. Equally compelling, tracks like sound like the unlikely spawn of Led Zeppelin and Wild Cherry. Lead singer and songwriter Jeremy Geltman knows how to deliver a punch, and the band’s live shows bristle with conviction and energy.”

Cathyrn Beeks of San Diego’s KPRI professed “Holding Air Hostage is a rock band for the masses, great songs delivered by a tight band.” The band self-produced their CD with the help of Caleb Keiter at Studio West here in San Diego. Jeremy Geltman wrote the songs with arrangement by all members of HAH.

HAH was formed in 2008 by San Diego musicians Jeremy Geltman, on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Anthony Cafiso on lead guitar and backup vocals. They added Jeff Ludwig, with his subtle but authoritative bass, shortly afterward. In January of 2009 Dusty Norberg, the commanding and influential drummer, formerly of Manganista, joined the band.
